Ming Chuang Elementary School
Taiwan

Battered by Typhoon Morakot in 2009, Ming Chuan Elementary School was rebuilt with the aid of Delta Electronics. The entire faculty and students had moved to the new campus in mid-February 2012. Architect Guo Ying-Chao, who designed Xinsheng Hall Three of the Taipei International Flora Expo, redesigned the campus as a green building to meet the spirit of "sustainable net zero energy consumption.”

The newly completed campus covers an area of nearly 3 hectares, and besides energy-saving equipment, utilizes light and wind harnessing systems to achieve a natural reduction of energy use. Its library is also equipped with solar and wind energy generation systems. All these efforts were meant to transform Ming Chuan Elementary School into a new paradigm for the future green campus.
